3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Answer your inquiry, diagnose your issue, and provide a written estimate
  • Schedule service, dispatch a technician, and send arrival-window updates
  • Perform the plumbing work you requested, including pulling permits where required
  • Invoice you and process payment
  • Keep records of work performed, warranty coverage, and permit history
  • Respond to warranty claims and follow-up service requests
  • Comply with legal, licensing, permitting, tax, and insurance obligations
  • Maintain and improve the Site, and understand how visitors find us
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Text Messages and Phone Calls

When you give us your phone number, we may contact you by phone or text about your service request — confirming appointments, sending 2-hour arrival window notifications, letting you know a technician is on the way, following up on completed work, and sending invoices or estimates.

These are transactional, service-related messages tied to your job. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. You can stop service-related texts at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by telling your technician or our office. Note that opting out of texts may delay appointment notifications, and we may need to reach you by phone instead. Reply HELP or call (415) 359-4588 for assistance.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only as described here:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us operate — scheduling and CRM software, phone and texting providers, email hosting, payment processors, website hosting, analytics, and review management platforms. They may only use your information to perform services for us.
  • Subcontractors and suppliers. If a job requires a licensed subcontractor (for example, electrical coordination on a heat pump water heater install) or a parts supplier, we share only what is necessary to complete the work.
  • Permitting and government agencies. Where a permit, sewer lateral compliance test, or inspection is required, we submit the information the city or county requires.
  • Property managers, HOAs, landlords, or insurers. Where you have authorized it, or where they are the party who hired us for work at your property.
  • Legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfer. If JK Plumbing is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies and Tracking

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, to understand traffic and how visitors use the Site. Some pages embed third-party content such as forms, review widgets, and Google Maps, which may set their own cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may cause parts of the Site — including our contact form and map — to stop working properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as there is no common standard for them.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep customer and job records as long as needed for warranty coverage, permit and inspection history, tax and accounting requirements, and to defend against claims — generally a minimum of four years after the work is completed, and longer where California licensing, permitting, or statute-of-limitation rules require it. Website analytics data is retained on a shorter cycle set by our analytics provider.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls on our customer records and encrypted transmission on the Site. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information you transmit to us.

9. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To make a request, email contact@jkplumbingsf.com or call (415) 359-4588. We will verify your identity before responding, typically by confirming details of your service history with us. You may use an authorized agent, with written permission. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Some information cannot be deleted where we are required to retain it — for example, permit records, warranty documentation, invoices, and tax records.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party sites and services, including social media pages, manufacturer sites, rebate programs (such as BayREN and Peninsula Clean Energy), and the CSLB license lookup. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies directly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
